In Loving Memory of Coco
February 20, 2012 – July 9, 2026
With broken hearts, we say goodbye to our beloved Coco, who blessed our family with 14 unforgettable years of unconditional love. Born on February 20, 2012, Coco came into our lives as a tiny puppy and, from that very first day, she wasn’t just our pet she became our family, our best friend, and our constant companion.
Coco was the only dog our family ever had, making the love we shared with her unlike anything else. She had the sweetest soul, the kindest heart, and a gentle spirit that brought comfort to everyone around her. She was truly one of a kind.
Before Coco ever came home, she had already been chosen. Sofhia her owner had begged and begged her mom for a family dog, hoping one day her wish would come true. When the day finally came, Sofhia picked Coco herself before they brought her home. At just 8 years old, she knew Coco was meant to be hers.
Over the next 14 years, Coco grew up right alongside Sofhia. From childhood into adulthood, they experienced life’s biggest moments together. Coco was there through school days, birthdays, celebrations, tears, milestones, and everything in between. By the time Coco peacefully passed away on July 9, 2026, Sofhia was 22 years old. They had spent more than half of Sofhia’s life together, sharing a bond that words can hardly describe. Coco wasn’t just her childhood dog, she was her soul dog, her best friend, her safe place, and a piece of her heart that she will carry forever.
Our brother Gilbert and sister Alondra were the one who named Coco when she first came home, beginning a story that would span 14 beautiful years. She loved both her brother and her sister dearly, and each of us shared a unique bond with her that can never be replaced.
She loved going on long walks with her dad Lucio, taking in every scent and enjoying every moment by his side. She adored being outside, especially when she could sit quietly and let the breeze blow across her face. Those peaceful moments seemed to make her happiest.
Like any cherished member of the family, Coco had her favorites. Out of all the toys she was given over the years, she remained loyal to only four of them. They stayed by her side through every stage of life, just as she stayed by ours.
Her mom Veronica spoiled her every chance she got because Coco deserved nothing less. The bond they shared was extraordinary. Her mom was Coco’s whole world, and Coco was hers. In the end, on July 9, 2026, Coco passed peacefully in her mom’s arms, surrounded by the love she had known her entire life. While our hearts are shattered, there is comfort in knowing that she left this world in the place she loved most.
Before Coco passed, she was diagnosed with a heart murmur. Even as her body grew tired, her spirit remained strong. Looking back, it feels as though she was holding on for us, giving us every precious moment she could before it was time to rest. That final act of love was so like Coco always thinking of her family, always giving us more than we deserved.
The silence in our home is overwhelming now, but so is the love she leaves behind. Coco taught us what unconditional love, loyalty, and devotion truly look like. She filled our lives with joy, comforted us through difficult times, celebrated our happiest moments, and asked for nothing more than to be with the people she loved.
Though we will miss her every single day, we are forever grateful for the gift of having her in our lives. Fourteen years could never have been enough, but what a beautiful fourteen years they were.
Run free, our sweet Coco. May the sun always be warm, the grass always be soft beneath your paws, and the breeze forever blow gently across your face. Thank you for loving us so completely. You will always be a part of our family, forever in our hearts, and never, ever forgotten.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever our Coco.
