When we got Xena, age 3, she was already named. We often joked that her name should have been Muffin or Cupcake. She had a sweet, quiet, calm demeanor, never the troublemaker. I heard her bark exactly two times in those ten years, once when a friend brought his male lab and he was a little too friendly. The second time was this Spring. She was looking at a field across the road—hackles up and protective big woofs! We never knew what she sensed, but she did.
Xena was a steady, loyal, faithful friend who made our lives so much better. We’ll miss her every day. Xena was a true “good girl”!
We lost a 13 year old yellow lab named Dusty last October. A big thanks to John Kohl for the great job he did for us. Another big thanks to Steve Kohl and Jacob for helping us with Xena. Everyone here is the BEST.
